FECD, a partner in development: A digital platform for communities isolated by technology

The initiative of FECD, the Ecuadorian Fund for Development and Cooperation, aims to bridge the digital divide of social groups and communities with limited or no access to digital technology, living in places with few or no resources, in order to reach those people who can ensure their livelihood.

As we all well know, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to face a new reality, that of not being able to communicate, educate, or do business without depending on technology. This new reality has forced many Ecuadorian people and communities into even greater poverty.

In order to reduce this digital divide, the FECD has created a digital platform where communities and social groups can present their projects, goals, and aspirations. In this way, they will stop being invisible and lagging behind due to the lack of digital presence that these days has become the main form to create opportunities and bring together donors and beneficiaries of noble causes.

You can access the link www.fecd.aroyi.org to see the first sample of good causes, so valuable that they require our support to materialize and generate new hope. ICEA supports this project, bridging the digital divide that has become the new way to marginalize and isolate groups of people and communities that do not have digital access or presence on the internet, preventing them from reaching the wider community and creating opportunities that can support their efforts to escape poverty, abuse or illiteracy.
