From 11th to 14th February 2025, BIOFACH, the world’s leading trade fair for the organic sector, returns to Nuremberg. ICEA renews its participation with an institutional area dedicated to certifications (Stand 149 – Hall 4), providing a key meeting point for companies and professionals interested in certified and innovative solutions.
BIOFACH is a unique opportunity to engage with international experts and discover the latest industry developments. This year’s theme, “Yes, we do!”, is a call to action to promote sustainability through responsible choices and practices. The event will highlight the pioneering role of organic agriculture in the food industry and its contribution to combating climate change.
ICEA at the Forefront with the Conference “Organic and Regenerative: New Frontiers for the Future of Sustainability”
On the second day of BIOFACH, 12th February from 11:45 to 13:15 in the New Delhi Room, ICEA is organising a dedicated seminar on regenerative agriculture, one of the most innovative topics in sustainability. This holistic approach is revolutionising food production and resource management by integrating organic and regenerative practices for a more resilient and environmentally friendly production system.
The lack of a universally accepted definition of the term regenerative has raised the need to establish shared criteria to prevent greenwashing. To address this challenge, ICEA and IFOAM EU promoted a significant initiative during the IFOAM World Congress 2024 in Taiwan: the first global conference on organic and regenerative agriculture. This meeting led to the drafting of the “Elevating Truly Regenerative Agriculture – Statement from the Organic Movement”, approved by the IFOAM General Assembly and published on 15th January 2025.
ICEA’s seminar at BIOFACH 2025 will explore the key points of this statement and examine the development prospects of regenerative agriculture in synergy with organic farming. The event will highlight the complementarity between these two approaches and their potential to address sustainability challenges.
