ICEA at the Rangeland Finance Forum in London: the future of sustainable rangeland management takes centre stage

ICEA took part in the Rangeland Finance Forum, held on 25 June at the Embassy of Mongolia in the United Kingdom, as part of London Climate Action Week 2026.

The Forum was co-hosted by the Embassy of Mongolia in the United Kingdom, BirdLife International, The Nature Conservancy, the Rangeland Stewardship Council, the Global Alliance for Rangelands & Pastoralists and the Sustainable Fibre Alliance, confirming the growing international collaboration around sustainable rangeland management.

The event brought together more than 50 representatives from the world of finance, institutions, international organisations, nature conservation and the private sector to discuss new investment strategies to support the sustainable management of natural rangelands, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

Mariano Serratore, the organisation’s Technical Director, took part in the event on behalf of ICEA as a representative of one of the control bodies recognised by the Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA).

The Sustainable Fibre Alliance is an international organisation that promotes the responsible production of natural fibres from pastoral systems through sustainability standards, field improvement programmes and independent certification systems. Its aim is to protect rangeland ecosystems, support pastoral communities and ensure transparent and traceable supply chains, making a tangible contribution to biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation.

ICEA’s participation confirms the organisation’s commitment to supporting certification models capable of combining environmental integrity, supply chain development and support for local communities.

The exchange with institutions, investors and international stakeholders also represented an important opportunity to strengthen the role of certification as a tool capable of encouraging investment directed towards sustainability, climate resilience and ecosystem regeneration.
