KRAV (Sweden)

KRAV certifies agricultural and livestock products, processed products intended for human consumption. Promotes the export of organic products to Sweden and enhances compliance with more restrictive requirements than those required by law.

INFORMATIONS

KRAV is Sweden’s leading organic production certification organization. The products marked with its logo are well known in the Swedish market and appreciated by consumers for the high level of guarantee offered and the important institutional role played by this organization. Operators adhering to the KRAV brand are required to comply with more restrictive ecological standards than those required by European legislation (EC Reg. 834/07). KRAV standards also include social responsibility requirements. The operator who intends to supply raw materials and / or products to Swedish operators certified by KRAV or to affix the logo directly to products intended for this market must sign specific agreements with Swedish customers and / or directly with the KRAV. ICEA is an Italian control body authorized by KRAV and its control body KIWA to carry out inspections in Italy. In the case of dairy products it is possible to access the KRAV qualification or certification through the IOS zootechnical voluntary certification, thanks to a reciprocal agreement of recognition of equivalence of the two certifications.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

Request for control and certification service.
The procedure for conducting the inspection is initiated by KRAV following the request of the Swedish importer who is already a licensee or following the request for certification and license to use the trademark by the operator who intends to export to Sweden.

Preliminary assessment.
At the request of KRAV, ICEA carries out the necessary inspections of all operators in the supply chain in order to verify compliance with the specific standards and the regulations for the use of the brand.

On-site inspection verification.
ICEA also provides direct dispatch to KRAV of inspection reports and documents related to the verification.

Issue of the Certificate of Conformity.
Following the positive outcome of the evaluation process, KRAV confirms the recognition of compliance.

Surveillance: periodic inspections and analyzes.
The recognition must be renewed every year, following the same procedures. The operator who has KRAV conformity recognition can propose himself to other Swedish importers interested in using the brand.
