What it is certified

SA8000 is the most widely used Social Responsibility certification standard in the world.

Developed by the NGO Social Accountability International, over the years it has become the certification tool adopted by Italian and foreign companies that want to certify the correct management of employment relationships within their businesses and initiatives aimed at their constant improvement.

ICEA adheres to the Network Lavoro Etico (Ethical Work Network), the network made of control bodies, coordinated by C. I. S. E. – particular company of the Chamber of Commerce of Forlì, SAAS accredited for the certification of systems of social responsibility of companies SA8000:2008

Network Lavoro Etico is the leading Italian reference point for the certification of corporate social responsibility. The partnership with numerous certification bodies guarantees a very high level of professionalism and competence in all sectors.

How to certify

The certification process is divided into four main phases:

  1. Initial assessment of the Organization. The applicant company shall provide in advance all documents and objective elements proving compliance with the requirements of the specification. These documents will be subject to a preliminary documentary verification by the CISE certification body.
  2. On-site inspection. Thanks to the audits carried out by ICEA inspectors at the headquarters and operational centres of the organisation, the applicant company must provide all objective evidence that the requirements of the specification have been met.
  3. Issue of the Certificate of Conformity based on information and data collected as part of the assessment and verification process. The CISE Certification Body, accredited by SAI, issues the certificate.
  4. Annual surveillance through regular inspections by ICEA inspectors to confirm the maintenance of compliance conditions.
