The initiative forms part of the collaboration between ICEA and ROA, which has recognized ICEA as its Ambassador in Europe.

The meetings provided an important opportunity to discuss the future growth of the ROC standard and the contribution certification can make to the adoption of agricultural models focused on soil regeneration, biodiversity conservation, animal welfare, and the enhancement of agricultural supply chains.

A particularly significant stage of the mission took place in Portugal, where the delegation met with the Fundação Mendes Gonçalves, an organization committed to promoting projects dedicated to education, sustainable nutrition, research, and regenerative agriculture. The meeting provided an opportunity to learn more about the initiatives developed by the Foundation and Casa Mendes Gonçalves, while also exchanging perspectives on the role regenerative agriculture can play in the transition towards more resilient and sustainable food systems.

During the visit, participants also explored potential areas of collaboration and discussed how ROC certification can help recognize and strengthen the commitment of agricultural and food-sector businesses to measurable and verifiable regenerative practices.

The week continued in Austria with further meetings dedicated to the development of ROC certification and to dialogue with stakeholders engaged in promoting innovative and sustainable agricultural practices, confirming the growing interest in approaches that integrate environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and animal welfare.

Experiences of this kind represent for ICEA an opportunity for dialogue and growth, reflecting an ongoing commitment to ROC certification in Europe and to building international collaborations oriented towards more sustainable and regenerative food systems.

[/spb_text_block]

[spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] During the week of 6–10 July 2026, ICEA participated in a series of meetings in Portugal and Austria dedicated to advancing Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) certification in Europe.
